MIAMI

GET Cities is proud to announce that it has chosen Miami as its third hub. Miami’s values of inclusivity, partnership, and collaboration, as well as its rapid tech job growth, both provide a unique opportunity to align the city’s tech ecosystem around equity.

Why Miami

With many global tech giants having already begun to establish a presence in Miami, these are the early days of attention on a city built on its diversity and striving to be one of the most inclusive tech hubs in the country. As the number of visible women founders, investors, and workers in Miami tech continues to rise, we aim to capitalize on this growth to accelerate the representation and leadership of all marginalized genders and races.

Our Local Collaborators

Break Through Tech is proud to work with Florida International University in Miami as the next Break Through Tech site. The Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences is one of the largest growing computing programs in the country with one of the most diverse student populations and provides the opportunity to exponentially grow the number of diverse women in computing.

Florida International University is a Top 50 public university that drives real talent and innovation in Miami and globally. High research (R1) activity and high social mobility come together at FIU to uplift and accelerate learner success in a global city by focusing in the areas of environment, health, innovation, and justice. Today, FIU has two campuses and multiple centers, and serves a diverse student body of more than 58,000 and 270,000 Panther alumni.

Future Collaborators

GET Miami designs with and for those on the ground in local ecosystems, and is currently forming relationships with influential local organizations working to build on, support and scale the strong inclusivity work already being done in Miami.

GET Miami is looking to partner with tech companies, the VC and startup community, civic and nonprofit institutions, other academic partners, and local and national advocacy organizations.
